After 1.5 years of secrecy, the new game in development by Yannick Zenhäusern will finally be revealed to the public on 11 May 2024. In a livestream hosted by me, Yannick will get into all the juicy details of the exciting game project, show us the reveal trailer as well as some gameplay footage! From what I have seen so far, this is not to be missed!
Dangerous Connections is a Cold War FPS set in 1987. You slip into the skin of American spy Dan Morris, nicknamed “The Moscow Mule”, who specializes in operations behind the Iron Curtain. The game will feature 15 levels, taking you to various fictional locations in the Soviet Union. It is a single player game only and currently there’s only a PC release planned. The game is inspired by nineties console and PC FPS titles, with some of their great features and strengths, combined with some of the advantages of modern gaming. However, the focus of the game is on the sandbox principle, allowing you to discover the various locations on your own and figure out how to complete objectives by yourself, with only minor indications and little assistance. The game will be completely in English, while the opponents use the languages spoken in the Soviet Union at the time. Of course the game will have subtitles in various languages.
Game synopsis:
According to espionage data, a dangerous situation is brewing in the Soviet Union: A new, experimental weapon of mass destruction is being developed. It has the potential to wipe out entire cities. As the weapon does not conform to any previously known convention, there is every indication that it is to be used. Data analysts therefore assume that, in addition to the damage to people and nature, a geopolitical catastrophe is also likely to result. Putting the facts together, there must be a more complex story behind these plans than a purely terrorist attack. The operational procedure must therefore be quick but equally careful.
